The thought shocks me. Unexpected, unwanted, and seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Though, I can't deny the truth it holds. Has it been days? Week? Months? I can't remember. Time seems to have stopped completely since that dreadful night. The night I lost everything. Nothing has meaning anymore.

Delicate drops of rain coat the cafe window, reminding me of all the tears I shed that night. All of the tears I'd wished he shed. My eyes start to water, but I force the tears away, determined not to cry in such a public place.
'You have to get over him,' I tell myself. 'He's not worth it. He never was.'
